FAQs

  • Does the booking include free parking?

    SkyCity does not offer free parking when you dine. We offer discounted parking rates if you spend a minimum of $25 at any of the outlets. You will be required to validate your ticket at the outlet in order to get the discounted rates. You can find out more about our parking options here

  • Can we bring a cake with us?

    Yes, most SkyCity Hamilton outlets will allow customers to bring their own cakes, when they have made a booking. Please discuss with the relevant manager of the outlet about bringing your own cake.

  • Is your meat Halal?

    While most of our meat suppliers are Halal certified, all meat preparation is completed in a SkyCity Hamilton central kitchen so we cannot guarantee that meat is Halal.

  • If a group has a person celebrating a birthday, does the birthday person eat for free?

    No, unfortunately not.

  • Can we use our Premier Rewards for parking?

    Yes, if you have sufficient Premier Points or a car parking credit accrued on your card. Your Premier Rewards card can be swiped at the parking machines to exit.

    Please note, some car parking credits are required to be activated at a Premier Rewards Kiosk before redemption.

  • Where in SkyCity is The Local Taphouse located?

    We are located on the right side of the main entrance – you can see us from the front of SkyCity and access our doors through the main foyer.

  • Can underage people come into the bar?

    Our bar is separated into two areas with two different rules; the area under the historic dome, next to EAT Burger allows anyone at any age to dine there. The indoor area inside The Local Taphouse is strictly 18+ or parental supervised.

    As with all our food venues at SkyCity, we only serve alcohol to those over 18 with valid ID. Our Casino bars are strictly R20.

     

     

  • Can I purchase EAT Burger at The Local Taphouse?

    Yes! We’ve teamed up with our neighbours EAT Burger to offer you their menu of delicious burgers, sides and desserts.  You can order it at the EAT Burger counter or our own one.

  • Do I have to make a booking?

    While we love walk-ins, on our busy weekend nights or for bigger groups, we highly encourage you to make a booking through our website.

  • Can you accommodate larger groups?

    The Local Taphouse can accommodate a large amount of people and can arrange packages to suit your group’s needs. Get in touch with us to find out more.

     

  • Do you deliver?

    While we don’t offer delivery services, our neighbours EAT Burger does via Uber Eats. You can find EAT Burger on the app with their full food menu. Please note, you can’t order alcohol through Uber Eats.

  • I’m unhappy with my order, what should I do?

  • Can you accommodate specific dietary requirements?

    If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please note that our environment does contain gluten and we cannot guarantee that it will be 100% gluten-free.
